Danfoss sells Dutch subsidiary Sondex BV

DENMARK/NETHERLANDS: Danfoss Plate Heat Exchangers has sold its Dutch heat exchanger subsidiary, Sondex BV, to heat exchanger experts Theo Thoen and Hans Ter Velde.
Based in Purmerend in the Netherlands, Sondex BV became part of Danfoss with the acquisition of Danish parent Sondex Holding A/S in 2016.
Theo Thoen has been sales director and head of the Purmerend factory since 2020, when he joined Danfoss after 22 years at Swedish manufacturer Alfa Laval. His co-founder, Hans Ter Velde, was a former director of Danfoss Heat Exchangers.
Under it new name of SD Heat Exchangers BV, the company will continue as the Danfoss official assembly and authorised distributor partner in the Benelux region.
“We are excited to launch SD Heat Exchangers BV and continue providing Danfoss high-quality brazed, gasketed, and welded solutions,” said co-owner Hans Ter Velde.
“Our focus is on maintaining strong relationships with our customers and partners, while driving growth and innovation. We are also committed to ensuring a smooth onboarding process for all employees.”
The transition process will begin immediately and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
