Desiere appointed Daikin Belgium md
BELGIUM: Roderick Desiere, who was involved in the formation of Daikin UK in 2003, has been appointed md of Daikin Belgium.
Roderick Desiere started his career at Daikin in 1998 as corporate planning officer at the company’s European headquarters in Ostend but is best known in the UK for his involvement in the establishment of Daikin UK following the purchase of three of the Japanese air conditioning manufacturer’s independent distributors.
He joined Daikin in the UK as corporate planning manager in 2003, shortly after the purchase of Croydon-based distributor Pillinger Air and Bristol-based Cooling Services. Early in 2004 negotiations were opened with Glasgow distributor MacQueen Air Conditioning, the purchase being completed in May 2004. Only Space Air Conditioning refused to sell and remains an independent Daikin distributor to this day.
Following his spell in the UK, Roderick Desiere returned to Daikin Europe where he was responsible for strategic planning and led numerous other acquisitions, restructuring and strategic projects for Daikin around the world. Most recently he was department manager of Daikin’s energy solutions business, as well as looking after international key accounts and distributor sales in EMEA.
Daikin Belgium NV is the sales organisation responsible for sales in Belgium and Luxembourg.
