DuPont seeks top fluorine student

8679034_sGERMANY: DuPont is offering a €1500 prize to a high achieving student in the field of fluorine research.

Fluorine is one of the key components of HFC and HFO refrigerants as well as being used for other fluorochemicals, including solvents and high-temperature plastics, such as PTFE.

The 2015 Fluorine Chemistry Student Award is a new award open to entries from students at the Master’s or PhD level and professionals with a maximum of two years in employment in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region who have clearly demonstrated a high level of quality research in their particular field of fluorine chemistry.

DuPont says that entries should not only add valuable insights within their particular field of research, but also to the broader scientific community, as well as demonstrating potential to provide solutions for today’s major challenges.

Following an in-depth review of all nominations, the successful participant will be determined by a panel of independent judges consisting of representatives from industry, scientific research and relevant trade media.

The Award will comprise of a certificate and €1500 prize money, which will be presented to the winner during the international chemical engineering show ACHEMA in Frankfurt in June.
