Fujitsu seeks huge overseas growth

logo_tcm100-871390JAPAN: Fujitsu is looking to greatly increase overseas air conditioning sales by 2020, according to the Nikkei.

Fujitsu President Etsuro Saito told the Nikkei that he sees the mainstay business generating JPY300bn (€2.22bn) or so in sales abroad in the year ending March 2020, up 79% from 2014.

As the Japanese market matures, overseas markets are expected to account for 80% of Fujitsu General’s global air conditioner sales at that time, compared with 77% last fiscal year.

The report says the company will step up marketing of new offerings in Europe, the US, the Middle East and Australia. Focus will be on both commercial and residential systems.
