Funding offered for cool green ideas
GERMANY: Finance of up to €75,000 could be available for individual innovative projects that foster green cooling technologies in developing countries.
Both private and public bodies can enter the Green Cooling Ideas Competition, which is funded by the German government environment ministry and implemented by GIZ Proklima, the German Society for International Co-operation.
Selected ideas will enter into a “technology partnership” with GCI, which could entail technical as well as financial support. The organiser says that this competition offers a chance for simultaneously realising sustainable solutions and business opportunities in the cooling sector.
The GCI initially invites eligible candidates to submit their idea in the form of an Expressions of Interest to participate in a Green Cooling Technology Partnership. Submitters of what are considered to be the best ideas will be requested to provide a detailed project proposal. Funding of between €25,000 and €75,000 is available for each chosen project.
Closing date for submission of Expression of Interest is May 31, 2015.
