GE pledges $3bn US investment
14th August 2025
USA: GE Appliances has revealed that it will invest more than $3bn over the next five years in its US operations.
The US manufacturer says it will expand its air conditioning and water heating portfolio, increase production output across all product lines, and further modernise its 11 US manufacturing plants with new automation and capital equipment. The first phase of investments will begin at GE Appliances plants in Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
The $3bn investment is said to be the second-largest in GE Appliances’ history and, when completed, will take the total investment in its US manufacturing plants and nationwide distribution network since 2016 to $6.5bn.
The five-year plan will include doubling the capacity of GE Appliances Camden, South Carolina facility, adding GeoSpring hybrid heat pump water heater manufacturing.
In December 2025, GE Appliances will add two new models of 2-ton vertical Zoneline air conditioners to its growing air and water product portfolio at its Monogram Refrigeration plant in Selmer, Tennessee.
