Güntner to open factory in Romania

150915_GUE_SibiuROMANIA: German heat exchanger manufacturer Güntner has commenced test production at a new commercial refrigeration plant in Romania.

The new 18,000m2 facility in Sibiu, Transylvania, will be dedicated to commercial refrigeration equipment after production is transferred from the company’s existing plant in Tata, Hungary, in spring 2016.

“The new Sibiu/Hermannstadt plant in Romania, specifically designed for manufacturing commercial units, allows us not only to satisfy the steadily increasing demand for energy-efficient and low-noise units but also to achieve the required capacities for the production of industrial units at the Tata plant in Hungary,” said  Güntner md Robert Gerle.

The manufacturing department completed so far comprises three assembly lines, a powder coating installation and a separate quality assurance department.

Güntner says that the plant’s capacity will be increased in steps with the manufacturing transfer from the Tata site.

The Güntner-Tata company was founded in 1990 by Güntner and Tata Hűtőtechnika (the former state-owned refrigeration cooperative). It is now the largest production facility in the Güntner Group, manufacturing  evaporators, condensers, air coolers, dry coolers and switch cabinets as well as special, customized solutions for our European customers.

The Tata factory will focus on manufacturing industrial units in the future.
