Howden set to buy US compressor parts company CPI

UK/USA: Air and gas handling products manufacturer Howden has entered into an agreement to acquire Texas-based compressor parts manufacturer and supplier Compressor Products International (CPI).

Headquartered in Houston, CPI can trace its roots back to 1897. Originally known as France Compressor Products, CPI has a broad global customer base with sales primarily in North America, Europe and Asia. It manufactures precision-engineered, custom aftermarket products for the global reciprocating compressor market.

Howden maintains that the acquisition of CPI fits with its strategy of expanding its global aftermarket presence in the compressor market. Taking advantage of CPI’s strategically located service centres, Howden intends to expand its aftermarket services and coverage across North America and Europe.

CPI’s valves and aftermarket products are said to complement Howden’s existing aftermarket compressor technology portfolio.
