Joint guide on Ecodesign requirements for fans
25th September 2025
BELGIUM/CZECH REPUBLIC: A new guide has been published to address common questions on the interpretation of Ecodesign requirements for fans as set out in EU regulation 2024/1834.
This FAQ guide, produced by Eurovent, the Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA Europe) and the European Ventilation Industry Association (EVIA), aims to support the understanding of open interpretations and questions related to the regulation.
The new regulation, commonly referred to as ErP2026, replaces the long-standing EU regulation 327/2011 (ErP2015) and introduces stricter efficiency requirements, product information obligations, and provisions supporting the circular economy.
The joint guide is intended to provide a clear industry interpretation of the regulation.
Commenting on the new guide, Eurovent’s product group fan technology chairperson, Julien Grilliat, stated: “We do hope it will accompany fan manufacturers along their journey to conformity with the ErP2026 requirements and shed light on critical points. We are already working on a second edition that will focus on spare-part-related topics.”
Harald Rudelgass, chair of AMCA Europe’s advocacy committee, added: “The aim of the jointly developed guide is not only to ensure high-quality products, but also to raise them to a new level of performance. Compliance with international and recognised standards makes a significant contribution to operational safety, sustainability and the ability to innovate, both in the industrial and building technology environment.”
