Jordan is first Middle East country to ratify Kigali

JORDAN: The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has become the first country in the Middle East to ratify the Kigali Amendment to phase down HFCs. 

Jordan’s ratification on October 16 makes it the 88th of the 197 countries that adopted the Kigali Amendment in 2016. Under the agreement, countries commit to cut the production and consumption of HFCs by more than 80% over the next 30 years.

The countries to have ratified the Kigali Amendment in date order are:
