Karp is Tecumseh ceo as Connor resigns

Connor Tecumseh
James Connor: resigned

USA: Harold Karp has been named interim president and ceo of US compressor manufacturer Tecumseh following the resignation of James Connor.

No reason was given for Connor’s resignation. Tecumseh’s CFO, vice president and treasurer since January 2010, he was appointed president and ceo in July 2011, becoming Tecumseh’s third CEO in two years.

Karp has been a Tecumseh board member since January and for 18 years, was employed by investment firm The Alpine Group. He previously served as president and coo of Wolverine Tube for over six years to December 2013.

Tecumseh said it is engaging in an executive search for a permanent president and ceo, with the anticipation that Karp will be a strong candidate for that position.

The Tecumseh board also approved the appointment of Gary Cowger as chairman.
