Lodam becomes Bitzer Electronics

The Lodam facility in Sonderborg, Denmark

GERMANY/DENMARK: Lodam Electronics, the Danish controls company acquired by German refrigeration compressor manufacturer Bitzer in 2007, has been renamed Bitzer Electronics A/S.

Bitzer has been increasingly incorporating electronic components into its products. By changing the name of its Sonderborg-based subsidiary, Bitzer says it is also demonstrating how important Lodam is for its success.

Since its acquisition, Lodam’s motor protection devices, IQ modules and frequency inverters have become a central part of all Bitzer compressors and the name change marks the next step.

“With the renaming of Lodam, we’re showing our customers worldwide that all our components come from a single source and are an excellent match with each other,” explained Gianni Parlanti, Bitzer’s chief sales and marketing officer. “Bitzer is not only a supplier of compressors, but of intelligent ones, and we develop many of these intelligent ideas for compressors together with our Danish subsidiary,” he added.

Apart from the name change, Bitzer says there will be no other structural changes for employees at the Sonderborg site.

The Bitzer Group is further expanding its activities in the electronics segment – most recently by forming a joint venture with automation expert Wurm.
