Mitsubishi boat completes Atlantic row
ANTIGUA: After rowing 3,000 nautical miles, the Mitsubishi-Electric-sponsored All Beans No Monkeys boat has arrived in Antigua.
The crew of four from the UK, competing in the Tallisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, crossed the finish line at Nelson’s Dockyard English Harbour, Antigua, in the early hours of February 3. Their time of 44 days, 20 hours and 22 minutes resulted in a sixth place in the overall race, beating 19 other teams.
James Timbs-Harrison from primary sponsor Mitsubishi Electric and his fellow crew members of Liam Browning, Stuart Markland and James Kendall left La Gomera in the Canary Islands just before Christmas and took turns to row in pairs in two-hour shifts.
The four took on the arduous challenge to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust and have so far amassed over £20,000.
Further donations are welcome and for more information about the crew and the challenge visit their dedicated website: www.allbeansnomonkeys.com
