Mueller plans Bahrain tube plant

USA: Mueller Industries is to build a copper tube mill in Bahrain under a new joint venture agreement.

Under the agreement with Cayan Ventures and Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, Mueller Industries will invest approximately $5.5m of cash and will be the technical and marketing lead in return for 40% ownership of the business. The company will operate as Mueller Industries and use the Mueller’s family of brands. 

Describing the move as part of the company’s expansion of its core business, Mueller Industries CEO Greg Christopher revealed “This mill will produce copper tube for the air conditioning and refrigeration markets and will have the capacity to support the surrounding Middle East and North Africa region.

Mueller Industries is headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee and comprises a network of operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, UK and China.
