Nortek fails in Fanwall dispute

The Fanwall concept is now the subject of a patent infringement dispute
Nortek’s Fanwall system

USA: Nortek Air Solutions has lost its air handling unit patent infringement case against its US rival Energy Labs.

The Northern District of California Court found that Energy Labs Inc of San Diego and co-defendant DMG Corp did not infringe six patents held by Nortek Air Solutions Inc and invalidated four of its seven claims.

The case was originally filed in June 2014 by the CES Group LLC, a Nortek subsidiary. Nortek maintained that Energy Labs’ Optiline Fan Array infringed Nortek’s Fanwall system.
