Panasonic merges HVAC and cold chain businesses

JAPAN: Panasonic has combined its Air Quality & Air Conditioning Company and Cold Chain Solutions business, to establish a new company, Panasonic HVAC & CC Corporation.

Under president and CEO Eiichi Katayama, Panasonic HVAC & CC Corporation, together with Panasonic HVAC & CC Systems Corporation, Panasonic Environmental Engineering Corporation, and Hussmann Corporation of the United States, will operate as a single group with approximately 30,000 employees globally.

Its business activities broadly cover the fields of air, water, and food. In addition to air quality and air conditioning businesses such as residential air conditioners, commercial air conditioning equipment, ventilation fans and air purifiers, and heat pump water heaters and hot water heating systems (A2W), it also handles cold chain businesses related to food, such as refrigerated and frozen display cases and kitchen equipment.
