Poland stops quota-busting shipment

POLAND: Polish customs and tax authorities claim to have have stopped 5 tonnes of quota-busting HFC refrigerants from entering the country.
The Chamber of Fiscal Administration in Gdańsk was alerted by the customs department in Gdynia of notification for the admission of 5000kg of R134a and R404A.
Analysis of the transport documentation and contents of the cylinders revealed that the importer tried to enter the refrigerant in question into the European Union without a quantitative F-gas quota or the required product markings.
As a result, the 500 cylinders were seized.
