REMA extends Carrier’s turnkey refrigeration deal

NORWAY: Carrier Commercial Refrigeration has signed a two-year contract extension with Norwegian discount supermarket chain REMA to continue supplying turnkey commercial refrigeration equipment, installation and service.

The latest contract, which builds upon a successful four-year agreement, designates Carrier as the sole commercial refrigeration provider for more than 650 REMA stores across Norway, while continuing to accompany the expansion of REMA stores in Denmark – reaching 1,000 stores for both countries in October this year.

“Carrier has consistently delivered reliable commercial refrigeration equipment and responsive service for our supermarkets, which is especially important as we continue to grow,” said John Roger Hansen, CTO, REMA 1000 Norge. “Dependable refrigeration is essential for us to deliver a wide selection of good quality groceries at the lowest price to our customers.”

The project will comprise of MenEco medium temperature multi-deck coolers for chilled goods, Velando low temperature vertical freezers and AIB narrow horizontal low temperature freezers for the frozen goods section. The stores will be powered by Carrier’s CO2OLtec Evo CO2 refrigeration systems.
