Rheem set to acquire Nortek Global HVAC
5th September 2024USA: Atlanta-based HVACR equipment manufacturer Rheem has announced its intention to acquire fellow US manufacturer Nortek Global HVAC (NGH) from Madison Industries.
Founded in 1919 and based in O’Fallon, Missouri, NGH has manufacturing operations in Saltillo, Mexico, and a distribution centre in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Its brands include Frigidaire air conditioners and heat pumps and Maytag residential HVAC comfort systems.
Founded in 1925, Rheem Manufacturing produces heating, cooling, water heating, pool and spa heating and commercial refrigeration products. In addition to the Rheen brand, the company’s portfolio includes Ruud, Friedrich, Raypak, Sure Comfort and WeatherKing, as well as commercial refrigeration brands Russell, Witt, ColdZone and Kramer, which are part of the Heat Transfer Products Group (HTPG) division.
Upon the close of the acquisition—which is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals—NGH will join Rheem’s Global Air division.
