Sabiana bought by Swiss AFG group
SWITZERLAND: Arbonia-Forster-Holding Group (AFG) is buying a majority stake in Italian fan coil manufacturer Sabiana.
Sabiana will be integrated into AFG Arbonia-Forster-Holding AG with effect from July 1. The present management, which includes the two families that founded the company, as well as the production sites in Italy will be retained. Ulrich Bornkessel, AFG’s head of international markets and sales will take charge of the business unit
With headquarters in Arbon, Switzerland, AFG operates three divisions with a range of heating, sanitary, window and door products. It boasts over 40 distribution companies worldwide and is active in more than 70 countries. It has factories in Switzerland, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, the USA and China and employs around 6,300 staff. Brands include Kermi, Arbonia, Prolux and PZP.
Based in Corbetta, near Milan, Sabiana specialises in both chilled and hot water products for heating and cooling, in particular fan coil units, unit heaters and radiant panelling.
Sabiana was founded in 1929 and is in the second or third generation of the descendants of the two founding families. The company operates three factories in Corbetta and Milan. It achieved a turnover of €68.3m last year and employs 180 people.
