Study looks at low GWP alternatives
FRANCE: A new French study provides the latest information on the availability of lower GWP refrigerant options and their impact on the energy efficiency of equipment.
The report – Energy Efficiency State of the Art of Available Low GWP Refrigerants and Systems – has been published by the AFCE (l’Alliance Froid Climatisation Environnement) – considers only pure refrigerants or blends that have received ASHRAE classification. This includes HFOs, the “natural” refrigerants, and the medium-term A2L options.
The comparison of the proposed options is based on the feedback of the owners and operators of facilities using these alternatives, on guarantees from equipment manufacturers or on publications (journals, conference papers) submitted to a steering committee.
This study, funded by AFCE and some of its members, is freely available on the AFCE website.
