US ac shipments improve in June

2750406_sUSA: US Shipments of both central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps showed significant increases in June, according to figures released by the AHRI.

Combined shipments totalled 1,022,363 units in June, up 16.4% from 878,513 units shipped in June 2015.

Individually, US shipments of air conditioners were up 19.1% to 729,018 units, while shipments of air-source heat pumps increased 10% to 293,345 units.

The increase improved to year-on-year performance. Shipments of central air conditioners in the year-to-date increased 3.6% to 2,681,694 units, up from 2,588,401 units shipped during the same period in 2015. The year-to-date total for heat pump shipments is now 1.8% down at 1,307,771 units, compared to 1,332,362 units shipped during the same period in 2015.
