UTC in talks to buy Nortek?

UTC-logoUSA: United Technologies, Carrier’s parent company, is reported to be in talks to buy Nortek.

The Wall Street Journal quotes “people familiar with the matter” as a source and says it is unclear where talks are being held or what price is being discussed.

Like Carrier, Nortek is heavily involved in the hvac sector with a range of well known companies and brands including the UK’s Eaton Williams, Edenaire, Moducel, Colman, Vapac and Qualitair.

Founded in 1967 and headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island, Nortek operates within six business segments: Air Quality and Home; Residential and Commercial HVAC; Custom and Commercial  Air; Ergonomic and Productivity; Security and Control; Audio, Video and Control Solutions.
