Permanent ice hotel opens

entrance-icehotel-365

SWEDEN: The first permanent hotel, which will be kept cold in summer by means of solar cooling, is open for business this month.

Icehotel 365 is situated in Jukkasjärvi, 200km north of the Arctic Circle and about 17km from Kiruna, Sweden.

While many seasonal ice hotels exist around the world, Icehotel 365 will provide a permanent ice experience with 20 suites, an ice bar that serves champagne and drinks, as well as an ice gallery – all created out of snow and ice by select artists from around the globe.

The overnight guests can enjoy a good nights sleep amongst art and sub-zero temperatures. There are two kinds of suites in Icehotel 365. Every suite has its unique art, and the deluxe suites include a private sauna, shower or bathtub.
