MEHITS air-source chiller for R1234ze or R513A

ITALY: The new MECH-iF air-source chillers from Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems (MEHITS) are available with R1234ze or R513A refrigerant and new screw compressor technology.

The MECH-iF is available in sizes from 345kW to 921kW and features one or two MS single screw compressors with external inverter, both fully designed and developed by Mitsubishi Electric.

The optimised compressor design and patented oil management system is said to achieve long-lasting quality and high seasonal efficiencies. The variable Vi technology allows the automatic internal volume ratio adaption by integrated Vi slide valve, to make the MS compressor efficient in any working condition.

SEER values are up to 5.9 and SEPR HT up to 6.8.

The MECH-iF also comes with the in-house developed RED (Reduced Exergy Depletion) cooler, a patented technology which optimises the thermodynamic cycle of the unit by reducing the loss of exergy. In this way the sub-cooling energy is exploited to the fullest, significantly increasing the energy performance of the unit itself. EC fans with high efficiency housing are also included as standard

Different acoustic configurations are also possible to meet any noise requirement. The unit is provided as standard with a compressor(s) enclosure but an additional noise reducer kit is available as an option to attain a sound reduction of up to 3dB(A). An SL version provides even greater noise reductions of up to 9dB(A), without compromising the footprint.

MECH-iF can operate with outdoor temperature down to -20°C and up to 50°C and chilled water temperature from 20°C down to -10°C.

It is also available in a -D partial recovery version, with an additional heat exchanger on the compressor discharge line to produce hot water up to 60°C.

MECH-iF chillers have been designed with easy installation and lean maintenance in mind. An extensive array of accessories can be provided for a tailor-made set-up, making the range also suitable for mission critical and harsh condition installations, such as double power supply (ATS), fast restart, 2-level alarm management, leakage detection system, multi manager and ClimaPRO+, HPC integrated control logic to manage the complete IT Cooling system, but also E-coating treatments for microchannel coils or cu/al coils with anti-corrosion treatments and hydronic kits, also with VPF systems.
