MHI to launch 80hp CO2 condensing unit
1st December 2020JAPAN: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has developed a large-capacity 80hp commercial CO2 refrigeration condensing unit, which is scheduled to go on sale in Japan next summer.
An addition to its C-puzzle series, the new model is said to be a response to increasing demands for larger capacity refrigeration system that use “natural” refrigerants, especially for food refrigeration applications such as cold storage facilities. In addition, the new model will also expand the range of applications to food freezing and ice making.
The 80HP model C-puzzle will complement the 10hp and 20hp models launched in 2017 and the 40hp model added to the C-puzzle series at the beginning of 2020.
As with earlier models, the new 80hp unit is equipped with MHI’s two-stage compressor integrating a scroll compressor and a rotary compressor. The combination is said to provide high efficiency and noise reduction through the entire operating range. In addition, integrated compact design of the gas cooler and the compressor unit helps to reduce plumbing, thus making the new unit suitable to diverse locations.
