European Conference returns to Milan
6th April 2025
ITALY: The biennial European Conference on heat pump and cooling technologies will return to the Politecnico di Milano in June for two days of intensive activity.
Organised by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with Centro Studi Galileo, the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), AREA, the Renewable Energy Institute (REI) of Edinburgh, and the Italian Association of Refrigeration Technicians (ATF), the 21st European Conference will bring together leading experts, researchers, and institutional representatives to address the challenges and opportunities ahead.
The five sessions and more than 40 presentations will not only be technical but will also cover policies, inclusivity, and environmental protection, while analysing the sector’s responses to the recently enacted regulatory changes.
Specifically, the five sessions will focus on new refrigerants and energy efficiency, components and technical innovations, policy and training, energy efficiency and heat pumps and the cold chain.
In addition there will be a special Women in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning session designed to foster diversity and promote technical and engineering careers for women in the sector. This will also celebrate the winner of the third Women in Cooling Video Competition, organised by AREA and World Refrigeration Day with ATF’s support.
