Global Heat Forum will tackle extreme heat

THAILAND: An inaugural forum in Bangkok next month brings together over 400 leading scientists, city leaders, philanthropies and health experts to scale solutions and unlock finance for extreme heat action.
The Global Heat Forum, dubbed the premier global gathering on extreme heat, will be hosted at the Marriott Marquis hotel from 6 to 9 October, during Bangkok Climate Action Week.
Under the theme Unlocking Solutions to Scale Heat Resilience, the organiser says it will create a roadmap for investment and action on extreme heat.
It will bring together leaders and practitioners working across public health, climate, government, research, civil society, media, policy and finance to accelerate action on extreme heat and its impacts on health, the environment, livelihoods and sectors across borders.
The forum is organised by the Global Heat Health Information Network, the World Meteorological Organisation, Wellcome, The Rockefeller Foundation, ClimateWorks Foundation, the Climate & Health Funders Coalition and the Asian Development Bank, together with Bangkok Climate Action Week.
