Aerofoil founder named Entrepreneur of the Year

UK: Paul McAndrew, CEO and founder of aerofoil refrigerated cabinet shelf strip company Aerofoil Energy, has been named Entrepreneur of the Year in the 2020 Business Green Awards.

Eight years at Aerofoil Energy, McAndrew is a display refrigeration specialist with over 20 years of experience in the commercial sector, including seven years as business development director of Norpe UK.

The company’s energy-saving aerofoils, which attach to the shelf strips of multideck cabinets to reduce cold air spillage, were first introduced in 2015. They are now supplied to five of the largest supermarket chains in the UK and can be seen in over 4,000 stores. Over 1.5 million aerofoils have now been installed globally.

The annual BusinessGreen Leaders Awards seek to recognise innovative achievements by UK companies and individuals to advance the green economy.
