Autonumis acquired by automation business

UK: Autonumis, the UK manufacturer and suppler of refrigerated display cabinets, chilled drinks dispensers and vending equipment, has been acquired by a South African automation company.

The UK company, established in 1962 and operating from a 5,000m2 facility in Minchinhampton, Stroud, joins the Johannesburg-based Directech Group. It will trade as a division of PAA, Directech’s automation business in the UK.

A statement on Directech’s Facebook page says that Autonumis “brings an exciting range of new products to the Directech stable as well as an extended capability for vertical manufacturing and assembly and the development of new products into our current markets”.

PAA – Peak Analysis and Automation – was formed by the merger in 2012 of Process Analysis & Automation, a UK limited company founded in 1992, and Peak Robotics Inc, a privately held corporation founded in 1989. The company was acquired by Directech in 2020.

Based in Farnborough, Hampshire, PAA provides state-of-the-art automation technology to major pharmaceutical, biotechnology, research institutes, consumer healthcare, academia, and lab automation companies.
