UK: Bean Beanland, the director for growth and external affairs at the Heat Pump Federation has taken a consultative role at the Heat Pump Association UK, the new unified trade body.
This month’s official launch of the Heat Pump Association UK (HPA UK) represents the entire heat pump sector by merging The Heat Pump Association (HPA), Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHPA) and Heat Pump Federation (HPF).
The new interim website is launched today, with the new association promising details of expanded member services to follow in Q2.
New CEO Charlotte Lee is backed by Olivia Smalley as head of policy and communications, and Chloe Davis as policy and communications executive. Stephen Bielby is membership and events officer.
Former Heat Pump Federation director Bean Beanland has now been named as a consultant, along with Nancy Jonsson and Joel Hamilton, an expert in shared ground loops, low carbon heat networks and drilling.
Mark Wilkins, former HPA chair, and GSHPA chair Laura Bishop, will co-chair the new association until September 2027. Their respective vice-chairs, Chris Taylor-Hamlin and Emma Bohan, will be vice-chairs until the same date, at which point they will step up to co-chair until September 2029.
The group has also named Tom Hayes MP, the government’s national energy mission champion as patron.
Commenting on the new association, CEO Charlotte Lee said: “Bringing these organisations together is a big, positive step forward for our industry. It means we can speak with one clear voice and work more effectively to grow the heat pump sector. Our focus is on bringing together each part of the supply chain to enable heat pumps to play a pivotal role in the UK’s energy transition.”
