Carver Group buys Powrmatic

Powrmatic’s headquarters in Ilminster, Somerset

UK: Somerset-based HVAC manufacturer and distributor Powrmatic has been acquired by the Carver Group for an undisclosed sum.

Established in 1949, Powrmatic has majored on industrial and commercial heating and ventilation but entered the air conditioning market in 2012 as a Midea distributor. The company added its own-brand Vision range air conditioners the following year and now also supplies a number of Airwell products. It operates manufacturing and distribution facilities in Ilminster, Somerset and Dublin.

The Carver Group includes a portfolio of manufacturing businesses, including air diffusion technology business Biddle, air curtain specialist Thermoscreens and Canadian packaged terminal air conditioner manufacturer Applied Comfort.

“The acquisition of Powrmatic complements and further strengthens Carver’s presence within the HVAC sector with the group well positioned to take advantage of future growth opportunities in both home and wider export markets,” commented Carver Group CEO Aidan Killeen.

This latest acquisition adds a fourth production plant to Carver’s manufacturing capacity and with the integration of Powrmatic the Group will employ over four hundred people across Europe and Canada.

In addition to its headquarters in Walsall, Carver has representation in 50 countries and offices in Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Canada.
