Chiller company Geoclima creates UK subsidiary

UK: Pioneering Italian chiller manufacturer Geoclima has established a UK subsidiary led by Rob Young, a former owner/director of its UK supplier Cooltherm.

Under Young and colleague Fabian Lant, both with extensive knowledge and experience of Geoclima’s extensive product portfolio, Geoclima HVAC UK will distribute all the brands that are part of the Geoclima Group, such as Clima Tech, Hecoclima, CROM and COM40.

Rob Young joined Cooltherm in 2003, progressing through the ranks until becoming a part-owner and director in 2016. The business was sold to the Carver Group in 2018 and Young left in 2020.

Sales manager Fabian Lant has been with Geoclima for more than 18 years. Prior to that he spent five years with KTK Klimatechnik.

Cooltherm will continue to offer Geoclima products on a premium distributor basis.

Based in northern Italy, 30km northwest of Trieste, Geoclima has been designing and developing special chillers for applications in air conditioning and refrigeration systems since 1994. It was a pioneer in the use of HFO refrigerants and in the early application of oil-free Turbocor compressors.

In addition to its 5,000m2 Italian factory, the company also has production facilities in Russia and Thailand and sales offices in Austria and Australia.
