Cold store firm seeks larger premises

Blue Cube MD Steve Blakemore: “This is an exciting and positive development in our business plans for the future”

UK: Cold store rental company Blue Cube Portable Cold Stores is looking for larger premises after announcing major growth plans.

The Stafford-based company is currently looking for a business location with space for a modern office building and yard to accommodate office personnel, service and its expanding fleet of portable blast freezers and cold stores. A location is sought which will be easily accessible to major roads and the M1 and M6 motorways.

“This is an exciting and positive development in our business plans for the future and provides the opportunity to bring all our sales, service and fleet maintenance functions into one location,” revealed MD Steve Blakemore.

“A strategically located facility with well-connected transport links will ensure excellent support for customers and give us the flexibility to expand as we continue to meet the demands of our target markets,” he added.

As well as workshop, yard and office buildings, Blue Cube’s preferred facility will comprise a number of service bays for repairs and spraying.

Established in 2009, Staffordshire-based Blue Cube offers a wide range of both standard and bespoke temperature controlled storage solutions including blast freezers, blast chillers, portable cold stores and tempering units. As well as rental, the company offers lease to buy options and ex-fleet units for purchase.

The relocation is in line with Blue Cube’s recently announced plans to achieve 30% growth in the next two years.

“In the past couple of years we have fundamentally reshaped and built a very different Blue Cube,” said Steve Blakemore. “We are now stronger, more focused and fully fit for the future. The changes have delivered the best results in the company’s history last year, and we are now ideally positioned to increase market share and achieve 30% further growth by 2019.

A recruitment drive is currently underway.
