Daikin acquires Scottish heating company Saltire
22nd July 2025
UK: Daikin Airconditioning UK has acquired the Glasgow-based heating services company Saltire Facilities Management Ltd.
The move follows Daikin’s acquisition last year of Surrey-based service and maintenance company Robert Heath Heating and is expected to enhance the company’s residential heat pump service network in Scotland.
Both acquisitions support the UK’s growing adoption of heat pumps, Scotland being seen as a promising market with a forecasted demand of 70,000 units by 2028.
Saltire specialises in heating services for houses and apartment buildings, offering maintenance contracts, installation of heating systems and 24/7 service support. The company has 300 staff, including over 200 field technicians, and an additional branch in Birmingham.
Describing the acquisition as a significant step towards achieving Daikin’s strategic goals of creating a national service structure, Daikin UK MD Tomoji Miki said: “By combining the strengths of Daikin, Robert Heath Heating and Saltire Facilities Management, we are well-positioned to lead the heat pump market in the UK and provide exceptional service to our customers.”
Daikin says it has no plans to change the operations and will maintain the name of Saltire Facilities Management Ltd as a member of the Daikin group. It sees the acquisitions complementing its own network of more than 40 Sustainable Home Centres in the UK.
