andrew-eastwell-chief-executiveUK: Andrew Eastwell, the soon to be retiring ceo of BSRIA, has been made an honorary professor in the School of the Built Environment at Heriot Watt University.

Having had a long and distinguished career at BSRIA, Andrew has gained a wide range of industry experience and knowledge which will be put to use in supporting the School’s recently established Royal Academy of Engineering Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design. It is said that his appointment will strengthen the existing links between the School and BSRIA in research and knowledge exchange.

Andrew said “I have enjoyed a long association with Heriott Watt with the work surrounding the Carbon Vision project concluded some years ago. I am honoured to be appointed to this post where I hope I can add value to the important cross-cutting work of the School which aims to improve the cohesion between the various elements of the construction process”.

Professor Phil Banfill of the Centre of Excellence said, “Low carbon technologies and building services engineering are core to the Centre of Excellence and BSRIA’s members are at the forefront of developments in this important area. Andrew Eastwell’s experience and his wide range of contacts will be a valuable resource for dissemination and industry/policy engagement.”
