French hvac company buys Ideal Boilers

UK: Groupe Atlantic, the French distributor of Fujitsu air conditioners, has acquired UK domestic heating company Ideal Boilers.

A major French manufacturer and supplier of hvac products, Groupe Atlantic will be targeting the UK market both for domestic condensing boilers and heat pumps.

Founded in 1905, Ideal is one of the UK’s oldest-established heating companies with a no3 position in the market for wall-mounted boilers. It also sells Airtherm branded air-to-air heat pumps.

The UK commands half the European market for condensing boilers and is the fourth largest market in Europe for air-to-water heat pumps, a sector in which Groupe Atlantic claims lead position in France.

Groupe Atlantic was established in 1968 and achieved sales of just under €1bn in 2014.
