Ideal announces lifetime heat pump warranty

UK: Claimed to be an industry first, Ideal Heating has announced a lifetime warranty on its Logic Air heat pumps.

The warranty will be available exclusively on its Logic Air heat pumps installed alongside an Ideal cylinder and Halo Air controls. It includes annual servicing, ongoing warranty and manufacturer support.

With information given to them through their Ideal installer, homeowners can sign up within six months of installation through a monthly subscription of £22.50, or an annual payment of £270, giving them access to ongoing manufacturer-backed support throughout the life of their heating system.

Installers who want Ideal Heating to provide ongoing servicing and support can recommend lifetime warranty for their customers. Those who prefer to retain the servicing relationship themselves can continue to do so through Ideal Heating’s extended warranty options.

“We didn’t want to launch just another warranty,” explained Ideal Heating CEO Adam Foy. “We wanted to redefine what long-term ownership of a heat pump should look like. That’s why lifetime warranty is about much more than repairing a product if something goes wrong. It’s about ongoing care, expert support and giving installers and homeowners confidence throughout the lifetime of the system.

“The heating industry has spent years talking about giving homeowners confidence in heat pumps. We wanted to do something that genuinely moves that conversation forward.”

He also dispelled concerns that the warranty disadvantaged installers: “This isn’t about taking away servicing from installers; in fact, it’s the opposite. It’s about standing behind them. Whether they choose to retain servicing themselves or use our Lifetime Care proposition, we’re giving them the confidence that comes from having the manufacturer alongside them for the lifetime of the product they’ve installed.”
