UK: Design, installation and maintenance contractor Integrated Engineering Services (Aberdeen) Ltd has been acquired by Norwegian offshore specialist Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions AB (WTS).

Established in 1984, IES (Aberdeen) Ltd is a specialist in providing hvac, environmental and refrigeration services to the offshore industry. It has 110 employees and operates from offices in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth. Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions describes itself as a global provider of fully engineered solutions, equipment and services. Products cover fire suppression and prevention, power distribution and control, hvac, and insulation for newbuilds and retrofits in the maritime and offshore industries.

“This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to the offshore market, positioning us as a leading hvac service provider in the competitive North Sea market,” said Petter Traaholt, president of Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions. “The IES HVAC aftermarket portfolio will greatly complement our well-established offshore services in Norway, the Americas and Asia, providing customers with solid solutions throughout the value chain.”

“Managing succession has been very important to us and we are very pleased to sell IES to WTS,” said James Dunlevy, founder and main shareholder of IES. “We share similar values, cultures, customer focus and technical expertise which is a great foundation for future success. This is a very good match for customers and employees.”

“By joining forces, we broaden our global footprint, enhance our high quality services, and continue our commitment of securing seamless operations and regulatory compliance for our offshore and onshore customers. I am very much looking forward to the opportunities this acquisition brings,” added Stuart Lockhead, newly-appointed managing director of IES.
