IoR conference to include short courses and workshops

UK: Participants to the Institute of Refrigeration Annual Conference will have the opportunity to take part in a series of short courses on topical issues relating to net-zero goals.

Delegates will be able to attend a REAL Alternatives training session on flammable refrigerants covering safety, efficiency and containment aspects. The course will be delivered by Marco Buoni and Marino Bassi, two leading experts from the field of alternative refrigerants and participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion.

Other workshops include a session with David Blackhurst reviewing the key legislation and regulations affecting the RACHP industry such as energy standards and labelling and the climate change levy. In addition, John Skelton, chair of the IoR education and training committee, Graham Wright of the Heat Pump Association and Graeme Fox of BESA will conduct a workshop led on bridging the skill gaps and attracting the best engineers to the RACHP industry.

 The IOR Annual Conference, which will be held on the theme of The Journey to Net Zero Heating and Cooling – Beyond Refrigeration 2021, will also provide a varied programme of case studies that demonstrate how the refrigeration air conditioning and heat pump sector is responding to the challenge of net zero heating and cooling. 

Attendees will have access to a comprehensive set of conference papers, live webinars of all presentations and question session with authors, recordings of all sessions for six months, key notes giving overviews of policy and global initiatives, and coffee lounge discussion sessions. Fees start at £50 +VAT per person with discounted fees available for students and for delegates from Article 5 countries under the Montreal Protocol and the 7 countries with economies in transition.
