Lawton Tubes reveals more on £20m expansion

UK: Lawton Tubes has revealed further details of its proposed new £20m warehouse and office facility in Coventry.

The copper tube manufacturer and supplier revealed in March that the new facility would provide much-needed capacity for the rapidly growing family-run business.

The planning proposals reveal designs for a two-storey facility, on a 5.83-acre site featuring a 10,000m2 warehouse along with office space and welfare areas totalling 1,600m2. It will include solar panels covering the entire office roof and a 40m service yard.

The proposed new building will complement the firm’s existing HQ across the road, as well as its other bases in Redditch and Poole where it employs more than 140 people, with an annual turnover of £230m.

“The submission of the planning application is a significant step forward in our ambitions to unlock further growth in the business with an additional facility, and we are hopeful of securing planning permission by the end of the year,” said Giles Lawton, the company’s MD of operations.
