Local ASHRAE chapter holds first meeting

UK-ASHRAE-homeUK: The recently established UK-Midlands Chapter of ASHRAE holds its first evening paper meeting next month on the subject of the post-occupancy evaluation of buildings.

The talk by Edward Murphy, chartered building services engineer and founding director of Ollio Consultancy, will provide an overview of his experiences in a number of award winning building projects, giving an insight into the post-occupancy evaluation research that he has conducted over the past decade. He will examine how, as an industry, we design and deliver buildings, how we interface with client stakeholders, and the quality of the after sales care we pass on to our customers.

Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE) is the process of obtaining feedback on a building’s performance in use. The value of POE is being increasingly recognised, and it is becoming mandatory on many public projects.

Murphy’s talk will also addresses what the research suggests the property procurement industry needs to do to capitalise on better techniques now available from other product design industries.

The talk is being held on Tuesday, April 26 at the School of Civil & Building Engineering, Room RT025, Loughborough University, LE11 3TU. Start time is 18:30

Admission is free. All enquiries to ashrae.ukml@gmail.com.
