4th February 2015UK: Marks & Spencer is to use reclaimed heat from the refrigeration system amongst a number of green features at its Newcastle store.
The conversion of the store into an eco-store is designed to improve the store’s energy efficiency by 20%.
A striking feature of the refurbishment will be a 167m2 green wall, comprising 16,000 individual plants irrigated from a rainwater harvesting system.
Heat reclaimed from the refrigeration system will be used to heat the food hall. It will also incorporate LED lighting on its refrigerators.
