Night with the stars raises £327,000

UK: Air conditioning distributor Cool Designs Ltd (CDL) and its supplier Toshiba have helped to raise over £327,000 for charity by sponsoring a recent match between ex-players of Newcastle United and AC Milan.

The match at St James’s Park was staged to celebrate the 20-year career of ex-Newcastle goalkeeper Steve Harper.

The teams included Newcastle legends Alan Shearer, Peter Beardsley and David Ginola and AC Milan old-timers Paolo Maldini, Christian Vieri , Franco Baresi and Paolo Di Canio.

The match attracted over 50,000 with Milan winning on penalties. The trophy was presented by Darrel Birkett of Cool Designs Ltd and David Dunn of Toshiba Air Conditioning.
