Rachel McCausland named as Lowe CEO

UK: Rachel McCausland, chief commercial officer at the Lowe Corporation, has been appointed CEO of the refrigeration, commercial catering equipment and kitchen rental company amongst a number of board changes.

McCausland joined Lowe in 2008 as rental sales manager EMEA, becoming sales and marketing director for Lowe Rental in 2014 and CCO in January 2021.

Outgoing CEO Rodney Lowry, who purchased Lowe in 2008, will stay within the business as executive chairman.

In recent times, Rachel McCausland is said to have played a vital role in driving the expansion of Lowe’s portfolio of services through several key acquisitions, which has included kitchen infrastructure specialist PKL, UK refrigeration design consultants Abbey Design Associates and Spherica Systems a IoT (Internet of Things) environmental technology platform business.

Neil Gamble joined Lowe in March as the business’ new chief financial officer replacing Paul Lavery. Gamble joins Lowe from Swiss real estate leasing company IWG plc.

Taking up a newly created role of chief transformation officer is Fergus McIlduff, who joined the company in February from Lisburn-based digital transformation consultancy Xperience. Due to Fergus’s longstanding experience in the tech industry, he will also take up the chairmanship of LoweConex, the company’s IoT data platform and hardware company.

Commenting on her appointment as CEO, Rachel McCausland said: “Like many others, the business has been through some challenging times over the last two years but has continued to show resilience, and I am extremely excited for the future. Our accelerated growth plans bring new opportunities to all the operating regions, and as of today we are pleased to have over 30 open positions within our core rental space and innovative technology business.

“Rental growth within existing and new territories will play a big part in our future development as well as our newly acquired software platform LoweConex, which positions us now firmly in the climate tech world,” she added.
