Steve Gill joins BJA management team

BJA-management-team

UK: Steve Gill, president-elect of the IoR, has joined the management team of Yorkshire-based refrigeration consultancy BJA.

While retaining his role as head of his own award-winning consultancy, Stephen Gill Associates (SGA), Steve will assist BJA with its expansion in the industrial and food production sectors.

Formed in 1993, BJA provides a range of services covering both new build and refit projects, service and maintenance, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and advice in legal disputes. The company is best known as specialists in the retail sector, although they also undertake projects across a much wider range of applications including industrial projects and air conditioning.

Commenting on the appointment, BJA partner Jim McPhun said: “We are expanding beyond our traditional customer base and Steve brings with him a wealth of industry experience to assist with this expansion particularly in the industrial and food production sectors. Both BJA and SGA will continue to operate as separate businesses but with this closer working relationship, we are both far better placed to address the challenges our clients are facing. Working together will make us stronger, greatly expanding our reach in terms of quality services to clients.”

Fellow BJA partner Chris Williams added: “BJA and SGA largely work in different sectors of the ACR industry, with BJA working predominately in the UK retail sector, and SGA working in the industrial sector.  While these sectors are extremely different in many ways, there are common factors such as energy efficiency, inspections and audits, compliance, health and safety, and refrigerant change that have enabled BJA and SGA to collaborate together, so it is a natural progression to invite Steve to become more involved in our business development.”

Acknowledging BJA’s national coverage, wide range of experience and service Steve Gill said: “Both BJA and Stephen Gill Associates are well-known, long established, independent, multi-award consultancies with strong reputations for innovative and original thinking in providing advanced technological solutions to solve their clients long and short term cooling requirements.”

Steve’s appointment adds to an already strong management team at BJA following the recent internal promotions of Stuart Bonner, Katy Nightingale, and Kevin Halliday.

BJA partner Alan Jackson added: “We have built a strong team at BJA with an eye to the future with some of the younger members of the team recently joining us.”
