Sunswap double in Made in Britain awards

Sunswap’s head of supply chain Romain Petit accepts the awards

UK: Zero-emission transport refrigeration company Sunswap has won the Excellence in Procurement and Marketing Campaign of the Year categories at the 2025 Made in Britain Impact Awards.

The Surrey-based business, which designs and manufactures battery-powered and solar-powered refrigeration units for the transport industry, was recognised at the awards ceremony this week, hosted by Made in Britain – the internationally recognised trademark for British-made goods.

Judges praised Sunswap for its outstanding achievement in building a world-class supply chain from scratch, rapidly scaling its procurement function and supplier network in the months before full production launch.

The company was also commended for its innovative Putting Endurance on the Road of Customers marketing campaign, which transformed transport refrigeration from an invisible commodity into a point of pride for operators and global brands alike.

“When I joined Sunswap two years ago, we were a small team with a big dream. We tried to disrupt a very traditional industry with clean, smart and British-made refrigeration systems,” commented Sunswap’s head of supply chain Romain Petit. “It’s amazing the impact that marketing can have on a business, especially for a start-up that wants to make its name in the industry.”

John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain, added: “The company’s achievements in both procurement and marketing show the breadth of excellence within modern British manufacturing – if you know where to look.

“Sunswap’s rapid development of an in-house supply chain, combined with a bold, customer-led marketing campaign, demonstrates strategic clarity, creativity and commercial strength. It’s a fantastic example of how British clean-technology manufacturers can compete and lead on the global stage, both operationally and reputationally.”
