TRS signs supply deal with FSW

UK: Technical Retail Services (TRS) has appointed refrigeration wholesaler FSW as its primary equipment and components supplier for its Service and Projects Divisions.

The new agreement, which is effective from April 1, follows on from the decision by Marks & Spencer to award TRS a contract to provide refrigeration service and maintenance to 270 stores across the UK.

The TRS Service Division will be supported by Just One Call, the FSW UK Group business, based in Bristol. The TRS Projects Division support will be provided by the FSW branch network.

Trading since 1998, TRS has grown steadily, gaining a strong reputation for service and projects delivery for a number of major food retailers. Recent contract wins have included M &S, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and the Co-op.

Headquartered in Glasgow, TRS is to open a new office in Bradford in May 2014 and is in discussion about a possible Birmingham facility before the end of the year.

“At TRS, we recognised that our supply chain had to change to keep pace with our growth strategy and our ability to deliver a national service and projects package. It made sense for TRS to consolidate its purchasing requirements into a primary supplier arrangement,” commented Robert Yule, TRS Service Director.

Mark Henderson, FSW UK Group Commercial Director added, “FSW are delighted that TRS has chosen them as their partner of choice and this is a further significant step in our development plan. Our network of 23 branches, together with JOC’S proven ability to supply 100% of parts required, is a unique combination that sets us apart from our competitors.”
