AHRI to host A2L refrigerant webinar

USA: The Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is to host a free webinar looking at how A2L refrigerants may behave in a structure fire.

The free webinar will discuss preliminary findings from AHRTI Project 8028, specifically designed to show how low-global warming potential refrigerants classified as A2L or lower flammability may behave in a structure fire.

The project will be used to develop a training programme to educate fire and emergency professionals on the appropriate tactics for dealing with A2L refrigerants in a home or building. Panelists include George Hunter of UL; chief Bill Offerman of the Elwood, Illinois, Fire Protection District; Dick Lord of Carrier; and Helen Walter-Terrinoni of the AHRI.

The webinar is being held this coming Wednesday, January 13, at 16:00 EST.
