AIT-Group plans heat pump expansion

GERMANY: The AIT-Group is expanding heat pump production with the acquisition of an adjacent factory at its headquarters in Kasendorf, Bavaria.

The move will enable the company to double its production capacity to 300,000 units. The gradual conversion of the production facilities will take place over the upcoming months, with production starting in early 2024.

Founded in 1998, AIT has a workforce of more than 1,400 employees at the Kasendorf site and in subsidiaries and branches in Europe and the US. AIT products are distributed under the Alpha Innotec, Novelan and KKT chillers brands in 25 countries. The company was acquired by the Swedish heat pump manufacturer NIBE in 2011.

The newly acquired 30,000m² factory, warehouse and offices will accommodate increased production of primarily air-to-water and brine-to-water heat pumps, as well as larger Alpha Innotec and Novelan products.

The acquisition also includes an adjacent, undeveloped land plot with a size of about 30,000m² for possible future expansion.
